A Cape Coral man was arrested Wednesday after police say he stole more than a dozen pairs of headphones from a store in the Southwest Florida International Airport.

Kyle Matthew Beiner, 39, is accused of stealing Beats by Dr. Dre headphones from Coastal News inside an airport terminal. He faces 30 charges, including larceny and dealing in stolen property, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office website.

Lee County Port Authority police received a tip through Crime Stopper claiming Beiner was stealing the headphones, according to a Port Authority report. An officer met with the management of Coastal News and found 14 pairs of headphones were missing, ranging in value from $149.99-$299.99.

The officer then discovered Beiner was at the airport, and set up camera surveillance at Coastal News. The officer watched Beiner walk into the store with an empty Nike bag, place two pairs of headphones in the bag and leave the store. The two headphones are valued at $599.90, according to the report.

After his arrest, police said Beiner confessed to stealing headphones and selling them on Craigslist for money and drugs, according to the report. Beiner told officers he lost his job a few weeks ago.

Beiner has a history of arrests on drug and theft charges in Lee County, according to the sheriff’s office website.
